The riots moved to Jalan Sudirman after previously taking place in front of the Bali House Of Representative at 05.00 pm. Police officers were using tear gas and water cannons to disperse the crowd after it turned violent and protestors began throwing stones and bottles at police.

The people were protesting their disagreement to a new employment bill that was created by The House of Representatives in Jakarta.

“Please stop this madness, please go home” said the officer with a loud speaker from a police car.

The Head of Bali Police Department, Irjen Petrus Reinhard Golose has come to the location to monitor the incident himself. Golose wanted to make sure that the officers were not overreacting against the people.

Many students were trapped inside Udayana University as they feared for their safety as riots got out of hand in front of the building.
