Tourist activity in the Padangbai Port in Karangasem has started to increase as the MotoGP event nears.
The Head of the Padangbai Police Department, Kompol Made Suadnyana, confirmed that the international MotoGP race to be held at Mandalika Circuit in Lombok on March 18 to 20 has started to bring positive impact to Padangbai Port. Passenger activity had previously decreased after the Covid-19 pandemic started.
“We recorded a 30 percent increase in activity over the last 5 days,” Kompol Suadnyana said on Wednesday (16/3).
He also explained that the port has been receiving over 1,500 vehicles daily. “We would receive less than 300 vehicles on normal days. The number has significantly increased to 1,500 vehicles, and this Friday (18/3) is expected to be the peak of the traffic,” Kompol Suadnyana added.
In anticipation of this, the port official deployed authorities from the police department.
“We have deployed an Operation Control Team from the police department to check the documents of each passenger and ensure the safety during port operations,” Suadnyana concluded.
The Padangbai Port officials provided 28 ferries that are to depart once every hour. This is so they can accommodate a large number of passengers.

No wonder by such gasoline prices. In Europe and elsewhere gasoline is becoming very luxury.
