German Beach is a much-loved coastal retreat for local families and young couples, yet it is often overlooked by international holidaymakers.

Over the next few months, the Regency Government and the Kuta Traditional Village will be investing funds into making the beach even more enjoyable for tourists.

Officials will be implementing a new zoning policy that means all different kinds of beach-goers can enjoy their time on the coast. 

Speaking to reporters, the Head of the Kuta Traditional Village, Komang Alit Ardana, explained that Jerman Beach would be divided into three segments.

Ardana revealed that German Beach will focus on becoming a community-based, family-friendly hangout.

Ardana said, “We want German Beach to become a family-friendly, community-based destination. The characteristic of the beach, which has no waves, makes it very suitable for family tourism.”

The Kuta Traditional Village team in charge of German Beach has established a water fun area in the northern part of German Beach as a place for water games that families can enjoy. 

Ardana shared his hopes that this new management of German Beach will be an opportunity for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from the Kuta Traditional Village community to grow.

Speaking separately, the Head of Banjar Segara in Kuta Traditional Village, I Ketut Werka, said that the number of visits to German Beach continues to increase every day.

Werka hopes that all the new activities teams have prepared will attract more visitors in the future. “Usually, there are approximately 1,200 visits, but now it might reach 3,000 visits. We see an increase, especially during weekends or large events. 

He added, “Even though the beach is still dominated by domestic tourists, slowly, every day, there are visits from foreign tourists.”

Werka wants to see more innovation and investment in public resource infrastructure in the German Beach resort area.

He explained, “Our future innovation will be to make parking preparations using a portal. We have planned this, and we will coordinate with the traditional village and related agencies to make it happen.” 

“We will focus first on preparing the facilities here, and after everything is fixed, we will make estimates about the parking portal.”
