New Luxury Hotel Resort To Open In Bali’s Ubud In 2027

Bali’s Ubud is set to welcome a major new hotel to the area in 2027.

The Radisson Collection is expanding its portfolio and will be opening the chain’s first luxury property in Indonesia as demand for travel in the region soars.

The hotel will be known as the Atiara Ubud Bali and is set to open its doors in 2027.

This is a landmark moment for Radisson Hotel Group, since Atiara Ubud Bali will be the company’s first hotel in Indonesia under the luxury lifestyle brand Radisson Collection.

In a press statement, Elie Younes, Executive Vice President & Global Chief Development Officer, Radisson Hotel Group, shared, “We now offer over 160 resorts to our guests, reflecting a solid network to join for our owners.”

“Indonesia is a market of incredible opportunity and potential, driven by strong domestic demand and international appeal. We’re proud to introduce the Radisson Collection brand to the country and to bring a new dimension of hospitality to Bali.”

More details are expected to be revealed about Atiara Ubud Bali in the next year, but first glimpses at the project plans show that the hotel will feature 52 rooms, including six wellness suites with access to outdoor terraces, private yoga decks, and private jacuzzis. Radisson explains further that the hotel will feature a “striking 530sqm Presidential Suite, complete with expansive terraces and a private pool, ” which adds an exclusive touch.”

“Designed for wellness-focused travelers and international visitors seeking tranquillity, the resort will be conveniently located just 90 minutes from Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport and within 30 minutes of the island’s most iconic attractions.”

Radisson is seeking to really establish itself in Indonesia, and Atiara Ubud Bali is only the start of the new venture in the country.

There are already three Radisson properties in Indonesia and more in the pipeline. Radisson will open the Radisson Nusantara in Indonesia’s new capital city, with construction due to start by the end of this year.

The company is seeking to focus expansion in both Jakarta and Bali, and has set ambitious targets to open 20 more hotels in Indonesia by 2030.

Tegalalang Rice Terraces Ubud Bali

The Atiara Ubud Bali is not the only new hotel set to be opened in Ubud in the near future. In August, IHG Hotels and Resorts revealed that it would be opening the company’s first hotel in Bali in 2026.

For those who don’t know IHG Hotels and Resorts by name, the company’s luxury hotel brand Kimpton may sound more familiar. The company is set to open the Kimpton Bali Ubud in 2026 and has chosen Ubud as the destination for its first foray into the Island of the Gods for its cultural abundance.

Kimpton revealed early details about the new luxury property, “Kimpton Bali Ubud will offer 101 thoughtfully designed rooms that reflect Kimpton’s signature style. Seamlessly integrated into Ubud’s lush natural landscape, the hotel is set along a revered stretch of the sacred WOS River, and it is rare to have an internationally-branded hotel located in the heart of the Ubud district within walking distance of Ubud Palace.”

The confirmation of the construction of these new hotels, and dozens more across the province, comes as leaders are working to tighten budding regulations and curb rampant tourism development on the island.

Although many major hotel chains are committed to sustainable practices within their businesses, the conversion of green landscapes into tourism developments is being linked to major environmental volatilities across the island. This has triggered Bali’s Governor Wayan Koster to ban the development of new hotels in Tabanan, Jembrana, Buleleng, Bangli, Karangasem, and Klungkung starting from 2026.

Notably, however, the initial public drafts of the policy agreements did not include a ban on new hotels in Badung Regency, home to resorts like Canggu, Uluwatu, Seminyak, Kuta, Legian, and Nusa Dua, nor Gianyar Regency, which is home to Ubud.
