Indonesia’s TransNusa Airlines is set to launch a new flight service that will connect Indonesia and Singapore.

The airline is also set to increase its flight frequencies from Bali, Singapore, Jakarta, and Yogjakarta, improving connectivity both internationally and domestically.

It has been confirmed that TransNusa Airlines will expand its service network starting mid-April 2026 by opening a new route, Jakarta-Lombok, and increasing flight frequencies on the Jakarta-Yogyakarta, Jakarta-Singapore, and Bali -Singapore routes.

With Lombok seeing a sharp increase in the amount of demand from international tourists, more direct services are being launched to the island. This, in ways, is taking some of the pressure off I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, and offering Bali tourists more island-hopping vacation options.

TransNusa Airlines is a low-cost carrier that is working to improve its connectivity across Southeast Asia, Australia, and China, and is picking up in popularity with returning tourists to Indonesia.

These new services and increased flight schedules only go to show that demand for travel in the region, and travel with TransNusa, is increasing.

To support the increasing demand for travel to Lombok, TransNusa will soon operate twice-daily flights from Jakarta to Lombok starting on 17th April 2026. In addition to strengthening connectivity to Lombok, TransNusa is also increasing flight frequency for the Jakarta (Cengkareng)-Yogyakarta route, which will also begin operating on 17th April 2026. This higher frequency schedule provides passengers with more flexibility in choosing the flight time that best suits their itinerary plans.

In terms of the international routes, TransNusa continues to strengthen its services by increasing flight frequencies on the Jakarta-Singapore route, effective 17th April 2026, and Denpasar -Singapore on 2nd May 2026.

For long-haul travelers heading to Bali from Africa, North and South America and Europe, Singapore is often the layover of choice, in lieu of direct flights to Bali.

In a press statement, TransNusa’s President Director, Bayu Sutanto, said that the additional flight frequency is part of the company’s commitment to strengthening air connectivity while supporting tourism growth and public mobility. He shared, “We’re adding this frequency to provide greater travel flexibility for passengers and to support the growth of the tourism and economic sectors in various destinations. Lombok, in particular, has enormous potential as a leading Indonesian tourist destination.”

There are a few changes to the Denpasar -Singapore (DPS-SIN) flight schedule, in terms of time and days. The route currently operates on a 07.30 WITA departure from Bali, and arrives at Singapore Changi Airport at 9.55 am local time, and the return Singapore-Denpasar (SIN-DPS) departing at 10.55 am local time and arrives at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport at 1.30 pm WITA.

Starting May 2, 2026, there will be one additional round-trip flight, DPS-SIN departing at 10.20 WITA and SIN-DPS at 2.15 pm local time.

Although Australian tourists are the most frequent international arrivals to Bali, these routes from across Indonesia and Singapore are the busiest flight routes operating in and out of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International, both domestically and internationally.

In 2025, on average, passenger movements at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport totaled around 2 million per month, or about 66,000 per day, for both arrivals and departures.

Based on route distribution, Jakarta was the destination with the highest number of passengers, namely 4.23 million passengers, followed by Singapore with 2.69 million, Kuala Lumpur with 1.76 million, Surabaya with 1.31 million, and Melbourne with 1.15 million passengers.

The new and increased routes from TransNusa come alongside new routes from both AirAsia Indonesia and Jetstar. Both of the low-cost carriers have launched new services between Bali and Melbourne, opening up more opportunities to travel for the province’s most frequent international arrivals.

The budget flight routes are set to welcome hundreds of thousands of holidaymakers this year alone. Bali is set to welcome more than 7 million international arrivals by the end of 2026.

Jetstar Plane

Speaking to reporters, Jetstar CEO Stephanie Tully noted that the launch is being celebrated as a proud moment for Jetstar and the region.

Tully shared “This is Jetstar at its best, giving passengers more every day low fares, more choice, more seats and more ways that make travel possible for more Australians.”
