A new family-friendly hotel is opening its doors in the heart of Bali’s Canggu. TUI Blue Berawa Hotel and Villas, owned by one of the largest tourism companies in the world, TUI Group, has found its home in The Luc, a lifestyle complex that launched in 2023.
TUI Blue Berawa Hotel and Villas will be a 5-star resort home with 119 rooms and suites, in addition to 14 luxury villas.
The hotel will officially open its doors on the 13th of December 2024, just in time for the Christmas and New Year Holidays.
Speaking to reporters, Anthon Hilman, CEO of PT Bali Ria International and The Luc, said that the launch of the hotel will also see more exclusive brand collaborations come together to celebrate the occasion.
He shared, “There is a collaboration between The Luc and a well-known big brand. One of them is that tourists are greeted by The RR Chocolate’s superior design in the lobby. This is a super premium chocolate brand, the best and most famous in Indonesia.”
The TUI Blue Berawa Hotel and Villas at The Luc will be operated under the highly esteemed TUI Blue brand, which brings a wealth of benefits to guests.
According to TUI, “TUI BLUE is the global flagship hotel brand of the TUI Group. The first TUI BLUE hotel, TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park, opened in May 2016 in Turkey, and now the TUI BLUE portfolio includes nearly 100 hotels around the world.”
What can guests expect from the TUI Blue Berawa Hotel? The tourism group explains, “Each TUI BLUE hotel has a contemporary design with high-quality materials and stylish yet functional furnishings — all adapted to the needs of our guests.”
“The design of our TUI BLUE hotels is inspired by the architecture, colors, and design trends of the local region.”
The hotel will feature a fitness center, yoga studio, co-working space, restaurants, gourmet markets, and access to the boutique retail shops within The Luc Lifestyle Centre.
The Luc is located just a 15-minute walk from the beachfront and just steps from the biggest beach club in the world, Atlas Beach Club, and its neighbour, Finns Beach Club.
TUI Blue Berawa will be the first 5-star TUI Blue hotel in Indonesia, but certainly not the last. PT Bali Ria International, the company behind The Luc, signed an MoU with TUI Blue Hotels in October 2024 to develop and operate 30 villas in the Munduk, North Bali, under the group’s luxury brand The Mora.
A move that many see as strategic as the Indonesian government continued to draw up a new policy that would see a ban on the development of new hotels, villas, resorts, beach clubs, and entrainment venues in Bali’s most developed tourism areas, including Canggu, Seminyak, Nusa Dua, Uluwatu, and Sanur.
Munduk, located in the green heartlands of Buleleng Regency, would not be impacted by the moratorium.
Canggu’s popularity with international tourists is going from strength to strength as Berawa has received a huge amount of attention in the last five years, and so too has its sister neighborhood Pererenan, which has been named amongst TimeOut Magazine’s coolest neighborhoods in the world in 2024.
This accolade will only serve to see Canggu’s popularity soar in 2025 as more tourists, digital nomads, and expats look to experience a little of one of the world’s trendiest international hangouts.
TimeOut said of Pererenan, “This place will remind you of what made Canggu famous in the first place—pristine beaches, cozy cafés, eclectic shops, and a certain laidback cool, devoid of noise and traffic.”
As Canggu continues to charm holidaymakers, traveler have already put their heads above the parapet to see where the next frontier for chilled-out beachfront living can be found; Seseh and Cemagi, more broadly, as well as Kedungu, are all on the watch list!
