It is getting increasingly easy to travel to Bali. Here at The Bali Sun, we think this is nothing but good news!
With more flight connections to I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, tourists have more options to travel at times that suit them, and ticket prices are more competitive too.

Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, which is the island’s only international airport, is celebrating the launch of yet another new flight service. Low-cost Indonesian-based airline TransNusa is really making a name for itself in the affordable air travel space.
With household names like AirAsia and Jetstar proving to be ever-popular choices for Bali’s most frequent international arrivals, TransNusa is on a mission to be an affordable and comfortable option for this very demographic.
Speaking at the launch of the new TransNusa Denpasar-Singapore service, the General Manager of Bali Airport, Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, said that the arrival of more TransNusa services to the schedule strengthens the position of the Denpasar-Singapore route as one of the busiest and most strategic international corridors for Bali.
He revealed, “Now, Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport is officially served by a total of nine airlines for this route.”
TransNusa will operate the Denpasar – Singapore service six times a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. This near-daily flight frequency allows passengers greater flexibility in choosing the travel time that best suits their needs.
The Denpasar-Singapore route is not only a popular choice for business travellers and holidaymakers from Indonesia and Singapore, but is a fantastic option for long-haul travellers to Bali seeking a strategic and comfortable layover.
Singapore’s Changi International Airport is consistently voted the best airport in the world, and having travelled through the terminal building many times ourselves, the airport gets The Bali Sun seal of approval for a world-class layover en route to the Island of the Gods.
Shahab explained to reporters, “The opening of this route not only expands international connectivity options from Bali but also reflects the aviation industry’s strong confidence in Bali’s market potential.”
Leaders in Indonesia are on a mission to level up Bali as a world-class tourism destination, but also make the island into a legitimate transit hub. In fact, TransNusa has already gone above and beyond in making this goal a reality.
In March 2025, TransNusa launched its new Guangzhou – Bali – Perth service. Speaking to reporters earlier this year, the CEO of TransNusa Group, Datuk Bernard Francis, shared, “We are always looking at developing new routes to benefit our passengers. While traditional routes such as Bali to Perth and Bali to Guangzhou are important, we also strive to go the extra mile to provide fast as well as seamless connectivity to our passengers.”
He explained, “With the launch of our new Bali-Guangzhou route, our passengers can now enjoy one of the fastest scheduled connecting flights to either Guangzhou or Perth via Bali, with a transit duration of either 1 hour and 30 minutes or 2 hours and 35 minutes, depending on the day and time of the scheduled flights.”

With Christmas and New Year just around the corner, Bali Airport is gearing up to welcome a seasonal influx of tourists and increased flight schedules.
With more than one million tourists set to travel through Bali in December alone, The Bali Sun advises tourists traveling to Bali Airport to be as prepared as possible. Thankfully, it is easier than ever to organise arrivals logistics before even touching down in Bali.
This includes booking an airport taxi pick-up, arranging the eVisa on Arrival, and completing the arrivals card via the All Indonesia App.

For those who are super prepared, it’s also possible to pre-order your vacation SIM card to be connected from the moment you touch down. Perhaps most importantly, however, it is essential to leave more than enough time to travel to Bali Airport during the peak festive season.
With traffic on Bali’s roads described as ‘haunting’, it is bad; tourists must anticipate traffic and leave plenty of time to arrive at the airport ahead of departing flights.
