Travel in Southeast Asia is about to get more exciting. A new flight service will connect the ever-popular resort destination of Bali with Da Nang, Vietnam.
The Vietnamese coastal resort has seen a sharp rise in popularity over the last five years, and it looks like 2026 will be the year multi-stop vacation itineraries are taken to the next level.

Affordable travel between Indonesia and Vietnam is about to get even better. On the 20th March 2026, low-cost airline AirAsia will launch a new flight connecting Bali’s Denpasar and Da Nang.
This will be the airline’s seventh international service out of Bali and shows that demand for travel to Bali in 2026 is slowing, but there is no sign of slowing down.
Speaking to reporters, Acting President Director of Indonesia AirAsia, Captain Achmad Sadikin Abdurachman, shared, “The direct Bali–Da Nang flight is expected to enhance tourism connectivity in Southeast Asia while opening access to new destinations that can now be reached directly from Bali.”
He added, “The launch of the Bali–Da Nang route also strengthens connectivity between Indonesia and Vietnam, including through fly-thru services from Jakarta and Labuan Bajo to Da Nang via Bali.”
The new service is expected to help boost travel opportunities for Vietnamese tourists traveling to Indonesia, and for Indonesian tourists visiting Vietnam, since both sets of citizens enjoy visa-free travel as part of the ASEAN travel agreement.
Indonesia is on a mission to promote destinations experiencing growth, such as Labuan Bajo and Lombok, to international travellers. The long-term aim is to continue promoting Bali as the nation’s flagship travel destination while also establishing it as a travel hub on par with cities like Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, and Singapore, which are major regional transit points.
The new Bali-Da Nang flight service is also set to better connect Vietnam with Australia, giving Australian tourists more travel options within the region. The new flight service will operate under flight codes QZ 480 for the Denpasar to Da Nang route and QZ 481 for the Da Nang to Denpasar route.
The flight schedule is already fixed, and starting from 20th March, it will operate four times weekly, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Outbound flights will depart from Bali Airport at 2.15 pm and arrive in Da Nang at 5.55 pm. The return service from Da Nang will depart at 18:25 and arrive in Bali at 11.55 pm local time.

In 2026, a series of new flight services is set to launch, and more are expected to be added as the year progresses. Towards the end of 2025, Bali Airport management confirmed several new domestic and international flight routes. Regarding domestic services, a new route was launched between East Java and Denpasar with Wings Air.
The service operated three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The service is the most efficient and cost-effective way to travel between Central Bali and East Java, and offers Bali tourists the chance to experience the wonders of Java, like the magical Mount Ijen.

International flight services also took off in late 2025, with a new daily service between New Delhi in India and Denpasar operated by Air India.
Speaking last month, the General Manager of Bali Airport, Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, shared, “The number of foreign tourist arrivals continues to show positive growth.
Throughout 2025, we recorded 438,646 Indian nationals entering through I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.” This is an 8% increase on 2024, and Indonesia is on a mission to welcome more Indian tourists in 2026 and beyond.

Bali Senator Dr Somvir told reporters at the arrival of the inaugural flight, “Previously, only one Air India flight arrived in Bali daily. Today, this number officially increased to two due to the high demand from Indians visiting Bali. This new flight is a response to high demand.”
