Two motorcycles collided on Jalan Gunung Agung, West Denpasar on Friday (23/4) around 11:00pm.
The Ambulance Coordinator of Denpasar Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Dewa Mahendra said that the incident was allegedly caused by a heavily intoxicated rider. Riders were identified as a 50-year-old man with initial (IPY) from Denpasar and a 25-year-old man with initial (WAP) from Buleleng.
Mahendra and his team came to the location after receiving a report regarding the incident that evening, and he dispatched two ambulances to evacuate the victims. “IPY suffered a head injury and went unconscious, while WAP sustained injuries to his head and left arm.” Mahendra said on Friday (23/4). He also mentioned that he could smell alcohol on IPY’s breath.
“When we checked IPY’s condition, he was allegedly intoxicated, which caused him to lose his control over the vehicle.” Mahendra concluded.
