Local Woman Saved After Attempted Suicide On Bali Beach

A 32-year-old woman has been saved after attempting to commit suicide on Padanggalak Beach on Tuesday morning (22/6).

The Head of the Denpasar Public Relation Officer, Iptu I Ketut Suardana confirmed that the incident occured on Tuesday morning around 11:20am, causing a woman to lose consciousness during her attempt to commit suicide on Padanggalak Beach. “A woman was saved by the nearby villager during the attempt to commit suicide on the beach, and was rushed to the hospital.” Iptu Suardana said on Tuesday (22/6).

According to a witness, the incident occured when he was grabbing salt water from the beach for a religious ceremony for a nearby temple called Campuan Temple on Tuesday morning. But he was surprised when he saw a woman who was rolling in the waves. Becoming suspicious, he decided to approach the woman and realized that she was unconscious.

“The witness attempted to wake her up, but he received no response, so he called to  nearby by-standers to help him evacuate the woman from the beach and called the authorities from the Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and police.” Iptu Suardana added. The victim was rushed to Dharma Yadnya Hospital to receive medical attention. Despite losing consciousness, the woman survived from the incident without serious injury. The officer explained that according to their investigation, the woman attempted suicide due to problems that she had with her family prior to the incident.
