Local Man Who Murdered An Expat Will Possibly Face A Death Sentence

A 31-year-old local man named Lorens Parera who has murdered a Slovakian lady at a villa in Sanur will possibly face a death sentence from the Judges.

As The Bali Sun previously reported, a 29-year-old Slovakian woman named Andriana Simeonova was murdered by her ex boyfriend, Laorens at her residence on Jalan Pengiasan III Sanur, South Denpasar on Wednesday (19/1). The victim was found dead by her friend who visited her residence that day. After investigating, the officers arrested the suspect at his place in Jimbaran.

The Public Prosecutor, I Made Lovi Pusnawan said that the suspect admitted that he became angry when Andriana decided to end their relationship several days earlier and that he was also afraid that Andriana might file a report with the police over a motorbike that he kept with him. “We will announced the charges during the trial, Laorens and his lawyer didn’t propose any exceptions.” said Pusnawan on Friday (2/4).

Laorens was charged with three different convictions, and it’s possible he could receive a maximum sentencing such as the death penalty for a premeditated murder. “The trial will continue in the next two weeks, when all the witnesses can testify.” Pusnawan added. The suspect was previously arrested by officers along with evidence such as a knife that he bought in Slovakia during his vacation with Andriana, a broken cellphone and a motorbike.
