A 34-year-old man named Francesco D’Alesioi from Italy has been arrested by police for drug trafficking in Bali.
The Head of the Badung Police Department, AKBP Roby Septiadi confirmed that the suspect was arrested on Thursday afternoon (13/5) from a villa in the North Kuta area. “After investigating the suspect for several days, we finally arrested him at Villa Pondok Uma Alas that is located in North Kuta, Badung.” AKBP Roby said during a press conference on Monday (24/5) at the Badung Police Station.
An investigation about the suspect began after officers from the Badung Police Department were informed by residents near the villa regarding an expat who was allegedly involved in trafficking drugs in Bali. The officers finally arrested the suspect on the 13th of May 2021 when they found 2 packages of cocaine in his bedroom when the officers searched the villa.
“After following his movement for several days, we decided to search his villa on Monday afternoon (13/5). As a result, we found two packages of drugs in his villa that were worth around USD 27,600 (IDR 400 million).” AKBP Roby concluded. The suspect and evidence is being detained inside the Badung police department for further interrogation and investigation.
