The surge in active COVID-19 cases in Jembrana has maximised isolation capacity in the region.

Every clinic and hospital in Jembrana is currently at full occupancy, leaving dozens of patients no choice but to self-isolate at home.

The problem with at-home isolation is that there is no supervision.

In fact, officials received information on independently isolating patients continuing their usual activities outside their home.

Regardless of whether they are wearing masks, their actions put the community at risk.

Jembrana Covid-19 Handling Task Force confirmed that there were residents who were suspected of not carrying out self-isolation with discipline after testing positive with COVID-19.

“I have received some reports about isolating patients leaving their homes,” said Arisantha, Spokesman of the Task Force.

He urged patients to be more responsible and follow orders by staying home.

Arisantha said that he would train officials in every village to supervise their neighborhood, especially in red zone areas.

He also reminds families of patients to wear face masks at home and maintain a safe distance from self-isolating patients to prevent risk of transmission.
