Huge Improvements On The Way At This Bali Beach Retreat

Jimbaran is often something of an overlooked tourist destination in Bali. Ideally located just minutes from the airport and popular resorts like Kuta Beach and Tanjung Benoa, there is a lot to love about Jimbaran Beach.

Now, leaders are working to create huge changes in the area to transform the coastal retreat into a culinary wonderland. 

Earlier this week, the Regent of Badung, I Nyoman Giri Prasta, laid the first stone on the new coastal path and road that will make Jimbaran Beach even more accessible.

With greater accessibility and aesthetic improvement, more tourists will want to come to the area, and more businesses will be able to thrive.

A new road and pathway will be built between Jalan Pemelisan Agung and Jalan Yoga Perkanthi. This will make it easier and safer for tourists to navigate around the Jimbaran Beach resort.

Regent Prasta explained, “This is the initial stage. Hopefully, in the future, it can continue and become an alternative to the western ring road in the Jimbaran and Bukit Areas so that the traffic jams that always occur on Jalan Uluwatu can be avoided”.

Work is already underway to acquire the land necessary to widen the main road that leads from the Ngurah Rai Bypass into the Bukit Peninsula.

Billions of rupiah will be spent on improving road infrastructure around Uluwatu and the northern tip of the Bukit Peninsula over the next year in a bid to tackle the island’s ever-increasing tourist traffic congestion.

Regent Prasata told reporters at the stone-laying ceremony, “We are fully focused on Jimbaran. In the initial stage, we will focus on arranging the coast and roads. In the future, we need to prepare larger funds reaching more than IDR 200 billion.”

He added, “We want the people of Jimbaran to remain united and be masters in their own home.” It is not only the road that will receive a huge chunk of funding, but the whole area will be getting a facelift.

Teams will work to address the ‘chaotic’ wiring that is on show throughout the area. The cables will be fixed overhead in a slightly neater manner.

New trash cans will be stationed throughout the resort to make it easier for everyone to play a role in keeping the destination looking clean and tidy.

In the master plan for Jimbaran, leaders want to see the area become a destination synonymous with world-class seafood cuisines.

The Jimbaran Beachfront is already lined with dozens of incredible seafood restaurants. For centuries Jimbaran has been a traditional fishing village and is still home to one of the biggest seafood markets in the province.

Top restaurants in the Jimbaran area right now include the highly esteemed Menega Cafe, The Cuisine Cafe, and the newly opened KAPENI Coffee & Eatery. 

Tourists from all over the world visit Jimbaran to experience for themselves some of the freshest, most authentic Balinese seafood specialties on the island.

The relaxed beachfront dining experience sees tourists often dine on long tables overlooking the shoreline and the setting sun. 

As neighboring resorts like Uluwatu and Kuta Beach continue to bring in huge numbers of tourists, Jimbaran wants to be in on the action.

The resort of Jimbaran is comprised of four beaches that all merge together.

Firstly, there is Jimbaran Beach itself, which sits just south of Kedonganan Beach and Queen Beach. To the south, tourists will find the gorgeous Muaya Beach which offers particularly good sunset views.

Many tourists love Jimbaran for its ease. Just a few minutes from the airport, with a great selection of accommodations, plenty of eateries, and heaps of space on the beach, it is an ideal alternative to resorts like Sanur and Nusa Dua for families looking for a convenient getaway on the Island of the Gods.
