Officials from the Denpasar city government have confirmed that 52.55% of Denpasar residents have been vaccinated.
The Spokesman of the Denpasar Covid-19 Handling Task Force, I Dewa Gede Rai said that 236,515 Denpasar residents have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, while the other 131,501 residents have completed their second dose. “As the cantilever area of Sanur which is considered a green zone area, Denpasar is expected to finish our vaccine distribution by July 2021.” Gede Rai said on Thursday (20/5).
Meanwhile, Gede Rai admitted that the number of senior citizens who were intended to receive the vaccine is still considered low in Denpasar. “I just want to remind the senior citizens to not be afraid of the vaccination, as the medical team will conduct a proper health screening before giving the vaccine to them.” Gede Rai added. He also said that Covid-19 vaccine distribution to senior citizens is one of the government’s efforts to reduce the overall mortality rate from Covid-19.
Gede Rai explained that the Denpasar city government aims to distribute the vaccine to around 450,000 residents through their 40 vaccination sites that are spread around several different areas across the city. “Thankfully people were quite enthusiastic to receive the Covid-19 vaccine so far, we have yet to be rejected while distributing the vaccine.” Gede Rai concluded.

What will the Balinese younger section of the population get? Sinovac, Sinopharm or Astra Zeneca? Nonetheless as soon as the population is vaccinated and a certain herd immunity is reached, the international border may reopen again.
From reliable sources the segment of the Indonesian citizens living in Jakarta are now getting Astra Zeneca, the batch number that was in question was eliminated. Some willing expats are also eligible to be vaccinated in the recent ongoing vaccine rollout.
