Bali International Hospital has revealed the first look inside the new medical facility. Located in Sanur, Bali International Hospital is set to open in April 2025.
With testing phases now complete, the facility invited the media to learn more about its ‘Culture of Care’ and how it plans to play a pivotal role in advancing healthcare in Indonesia.
Bali International Hospital is going to be a private medical facility available to privately paying Indonesian citizens and medical tourists from around the world. It is also going to be the only hospital in Indonesia that is permitted to hire foreign doctors and medical staff.
The mission is clear: to provide world-class medical care and establish Bali as a top global medical tourism destination.
During a corporate gathering held at Pullman Thamrin Hotel in Sanur, the event called ‘A Culture of Care’ saw the top managers and developers of Bali International Hospital and the Sanur Special Economic Zone come together to publicly share all that they have been working on. Bali International Hospital (BIH) will be operated by PT Pertamina Bina Medika (IHC).
The core services that will be offered by the Bali International Hospital can be remembered using the acronym CONGO: Cardiology, Oncology, Neurology, Gastrology, and Orthopedics. There will also be a full emergency department and an ICU.
There will be integrated oncology services available with modern and precision radiation therapy using LINAC and 3D brachytherapy, 3 Tesla MRI machines for high-quality diagnostic imaging, as well as modern laboratory systems that ensure the Bali International Hospital’s diagnostic capabilities meet international standards. Bali International Hospital will be offering Bali’s first mammogram facility.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Dewi F. Fitriana, MPH, President and Director of PT Pertamedika Bali Hospital, shared, “We believe that the synergy between BUMN (state-owned enterprises) and the corporate sector is the key to encouraging the transformation of health services that has a wide impact.”
“This event becomes an important momentum to strengthen the joint commitment to presenting cooperation, expanding the network, providing international standard health solutions, and providing real benefits for Indonesian people.”
One of the core missions of the Bali International Hospital is to tap into the medical tourism market from two specific angles. The first is to stop Indonesian medical tourists from traveling abroad for treatment. Many Indonesian residents regularly travel to Singapore, Malaysia, or Thailand for treatment.
The second is to bring international tourists, like those from Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and North America, to Bali for treatment. At present, hundreds of thousands of Australian tourists travel to Bali to receive dental care, minor aesthetic treatments, and affordable optometry care.
Being part of the wider Sanur Special Economic Zone development, Bali International Hospital will be partnering with hotels in the area, such as Bali Beach Hotel and The Meru, to provide integrated 5-star hospitality.
Whether medical tourists are visiting Bali for screenings and check-ups alongside a coastal vacation or are traveling to Bali for long or invasive treatments, patients can rest assured that every aspect of their care and journey will be tended to.
While no specific date has been revealed for the grand opening of the Bali International Hospital, we do know that the big day is set for April 2025. The hospital is already welcoming early bird sign-ups for their exclusive health screening packages.
Offering the Bali Classic package for IDR 3,400,000 and the Bali Deluxe package for IDR 7,000,000, these screening assessments include everything from x-rays to ultrasounds, full blood work screenings, and a one-to-one consultation with one of the hospital’s GPs.
The tests include screenings for metabolic disorders, infections, and organ function. All screenings are completed in less than 3 hours, and patients receive their results and a detailed health report within 24 hours of their visit.
