Emirates Doubles Flight Service To Bali As Travel Demand Soars

The world’s biggest commercial aircraft is about to double its flight services to Bali.

The Airbus A380 is a double-decker aircraft, and Emirates first launched its Dubai – Bali service aboard the jumbo jet on 1st 2023.

With demand for Bali travel soaring, the airline is increasing its services.

Between 1st September and 26th October, the Emirates EK398/399 service between Bali and Dubai will operate twice daily return.

This increased frequency has been confirmed to keep up with increasing demand, and, pending success in September and October, the doubly daily service could even be locked into the permanent flight schedule at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International.

With the service soon to be doubled, the weekly seating capacity of the return service will increased by 2,600 passengers. Emirates as an airline first launched a direct daily service from Dubai to Bali back in 2015 but on a smaller aircraft.

This came as an upgraded service, adding to its longstanding scheduled flights to Jakarta, which first launched in 1992.

As one of the world’s leading airlines, Emirates operates flights to over 144 destinations across six continents and offers twice-daily flights to Jakarta and Bali from Dubai.

During its first 100 days of service, the Emirates EK398/399 route between Bali and Dubai serviced over 100,000 passengers.

In a press interview in September 2023, celebrating the 100 successful days of daily departures of the world’s largest commercial aircraft, the General Manager of Bali Airport, Handy Heryudhitiawan, told reporters, “Since its first operation until now, the Airbus A380 aircraft operated by Emirates on the Dubai-Bali-Dubai route has served 118,783 passengers.”

The flight has been in high demand since its 2023 launch, with the service operating at 98% capacity throughout its first 100 days, a trend that has continued over the last year.

As the Emirate prepares to bring even more flights into Denpasar, other major international airlines are also claiming their space in the schedule. In October, travel will become even easier for tourists as they connect with leading destinations in East Asia.

A new direct flight service will launch between Incheon and Denpasar. The service will operate seven times a week and operate with a capacity of 180 passengers per flight.

The General Manager of Bali Airport, Handy Heryudhitiawan, has also confirmed that six major international airlines are also in the process of bidding for new and increased flight slots from Bali Airport.

However, as Bali welcomes ever more tourists and remains on target to celebrate its busiest year on record for international tourism, Immigration officials are cracking down on those who intend to discredit Islamic law and cultural norms.

The Indonesian Immigration Department has reaffirmed its zero-tolerance approach to foreigners breaking the conditions of their visas.

In a press interview, the Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Pramella Yunidar Pasaribu, said that the increase in foreign arrivals is a positive indicator of the recovery of Bali’s tourism sector after the pandemic.

She explained, “However, we remain committed to ensuring strict immigration control to maintain security and order in the Bali region.”

She added, “We urge all foreigners visiting Bali to comply with applicable laws and regulations. Apart from that, we also invite the public to participate in maintaining security and order in Bali.”

Pasaribu said, “We will continue to increase supervision of the presence and activities of foreigners in Bali. This is done to maintain security, order, and comfort for the entire community, including tourists.”

She concluded to confirm that despite the crackdown on illegal behavior by foreigners, tourists remain welcome in Indonesia, especially in Bali.

Pasaribu said, “We want to ensure that every tourist who comes to Bali can enjoy the natural beauty and culture of Bali safely and comfortably.”

Bali’s top international arrivals continue to be from Australia, India, and China, followed by tourists from the UK, South Kora, the USA, France, Malaysia, Singapore, and Germany.
