Electric Shock Results In Death Of Bali Police Officer

A 36-year-old police officer, Ipda I Putu Bayu Harvendina, has passed away from electic shock while attempting to install an electric device at his residence in Tabanan. Officer Harvendina served as the Head of Criminal Investigation for the Denpasar Police.

The incident occurred when the officer went to visit his hometown in Belimbing Village, Pupuan Tabanan. He planned to install a signal booster device to increase the internet performance in his house. Officer Harvendina began to install the device on Saturday afternoon with his niece, Ni Putu Eka Nia Dede Widiasih (16), to assist him.

They planned to use a steel pipe over 10 meters in length during the process. However, they didn’t realize that the steel pipe was in contact with a high voltage electric wire situated directly above them.

As a result, Officer Harvendina faced electrical shock due to the high voltage. His wife heard the explosion from outside and came running to find her husband unconscious from the incident.

He was immediately rushed to Selemadeg Clinic to get medical assistance, but unfortunately, the doctor confirmed that he had already passed away.

According to the investigation of the Head of Public Relation Officer from Tabanan Police confirmed that the cause of death was electric shock.
