The Head of Denpasar Public Relation, Dewa Gede Rai explained that local government officials in Denpasar will join the vaccination program this week.
“Government officials such as the Head of Military, Head of Police Department, Senator and Head of Denpasar Disaster Management will be top priority, but they need to get through a medical examination before taking the shot” said Gede Rai on Wednesday (13/1).
Meanwhile Gede Rai said that the Mayor of Denpasar, Rai Mantra, and the Vice Mayor of Denpasar, Wawali Jayanegara, are not qualified to receive the COVID-19 vaccine as they both once tested positive with the virus.
Rai Mantra was confirmed positive in December 2020, and Jayanegara in June 2020.
During an interview with the Head of Bali Health Agency, Dr Ketut Suarjaya said that the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, will get the vaccine one day earlier than regional government officials.
