Officials from the Bali Covid-19 Handling Task Force have confirmed that Covid-19 cases on the island have started to decrease.
After recently getting criticized by the central government during their inspection on the 12th of August 2021, The Bali provincial government was pushed by the Maritime and Investment Coordinator Minister, Luhut Binsar Panjdaitan to reduce Covid-19 transmissions that kept surging despite the current vaccine distribution in Bali. The Secretary of the Bali Covid-19 Handling Task Force, I Made Rentin confirmed that their efforts have finally shown a positive result as Covid-19 cases began to reduce.
“We’ve finally noticed positive change since the joined forces from the Covid-19 Handling Task Force, police and military officers started implementing the centralized quarantine program for asymptomatic Covid-19 patients in Bali.” Rentin said on Sunday (22/8). According to the data, from previously reaching around 11,803 active cases on the 5th of August 2021, the recent active Covid-19 cases on August 21st 2021 has already reduced into 9,982 cases.
The provincial government has provided a total of 363 quarantine facilities with 6,119 beds for asymptomatic Covid patients as of Friday (20/8). The majority of current active Covid-19 patients are both asymptomatic and people with mild symptoms. “In order to continue this positive progress, we encourage Bali people who are confirmed positive to voluntarily relocate themselves into a nearby quarantine facility in their area.” Rentin concluded.

My guess after seeing the posts that it is the Ivermectin that is pulling the numbers down. The posts about it have increased by 300-400% over a month ago. 🙏🏻

@Mike A, The FDA has not approved ivermectin to prevent or treat COVID-19, but the vaccines have been proven to reduce the risk of serious illness or death dramatically.
Ivermectin is used in animals such as cows and horses to prevent heartworm disease and certain internal and external parasites.
The Balinese authorities initiated lockdowns, agressive vaccination program and quarantine facilities and as a result infections have been reduced. The concept works but not out of the woods yet.
