A coffee shop called Teras Ombo has been permanently closed down by authorities from the West Denpasar Police Department for violating several policies.
The Head of the West Denpasar Police Department, Kompol I Made Hendra Agustina, confirmed that a coffee shop located in Jalan Mahendradata, Denpasar was shut down by authorities on Monday (10/1).
“After receiving several reports and complaints from nearby residents, we decided to close down the business for violating the rules and disturbing many people during their operations,” Kompol Agustina said.
Agustina explained that the coffee shop sold liquors without a legal permit and neglected the curfew. Fights among the customers were common, and Covid-19 prevention protocols were not properly implemented.
“They often played loud music until late in the evening, in violation of the current curfew policy. Many people around the area were disturbed,” Kompol Agustina added.
The police ensured that the coffee shop wouldn’t be allowed to operate in the same location again.
“They can reopen this coffee shop in another place if they want to, as long as they comply with all the regulations. However, they are banned from this location,” Kompol Agustina concluded.
