A British National, Argent Mathew David (28) from England lost his life in a motorcycle accident in Denpasar, Bali.
The incident occurred on Jalan Teuku Umar Barat, Denpasar, in front of Kawasaki showroom at 1:45am on Thursday (14/1).
The impact occurred as David accelerated uphill on the bridge, eventually spiralling out of control once the road became level.
Medical staff suggests he had been driving under influence.
His Honda Vario (Registration Number DK 4749 FAV) hit a sidewalk on the bridge on Jalan Teuku Umar Barat.
Head of Denpasar Public Relation Police Officer, Iptu I Ketut Sukadi, explained that according to statements from witnesses at the scene, David was headed east at a very high speed.
“The medical staff called to the scene smelt a strong scent of alcohol from his mouth. He might have been drunk while driving” Sukadi said.
David suffered severe head injury and also had several cuts on his body from the accident.
“He was taken to Sanglah Public Hospital using an ambulance from Denpasar Disaster Management Agency” Sukadi concluded.
