Bali Governor Highlights Amazing Condition Of This Family-Friendly Beach

Share The Article

Bali’s Governor Wayan Koster has spoken to reporters about the conditions of some of Bali’s most popular tourist beaches.

In a rare moment of complete candor, Governor Koster told academics and ministers the beaches he feels are the best right now and the coastal resort he feels is ‘dirty’.

Speaking during interviews with the Minster of Law and Human Rights at the Bukit Jimbaran Campus at Udayana University, Governor Koster shared his views on the best and worst of the island’s tourism destinations.

He revealed that he is aware that Bali is “very far compared to Singapore” when it comes to cleanliness and efficiency.

As reported by RadarBali, Governor Koster is reported to have emphasized that Kuta Beach is ‘dirty’ but that he won’t be reprimanding local regency authorities.

He feels the solution is a simple one: to employ more caretakers and groundkeepers in the area. Governor Koster said that he has seen the conditions of Kuta Beach firsthand.

The Governor said his assessment of Bali’s popular resort beaches is “Not a report. I looked directly around there. I don’t like using reports, I come directly.”

He added, “The worst is Kuta. Sanur is good, Karangasem is good, Klungkung is good.” Sanur Beach may be getting the seal of approval from Governor Koster, but what is it about the coastal resort that sets it apart from other destinations on the island?

As Kuta undergoes a series of renovations, it’s clear the area will be back on top form soon, so what can tourists look forward to in Sanur?

Sanur is easily one of the safest and most family-friendly resorts in Bali. The newly renovated sidewalk makes the whole resort accessible for all generations of the family and caters to those with additional accessibility needs too. The vast stretch of soft white sand is met by consistently gentle waves and plenty of activities to keep everyone happy.

There are plenty of family-friendly resorts in the Sanur Beach area, and the coastal getaway is perfectly located just 25 minutes from Bali Airport. Many of the resorts at Sanur Beach, like Holiday Inn Bali Sanur and Intercontinental Bali Sanur, have kids clubs and au pair services available for everyone to have the vacation they need and deserve while in Sanur.

Sanur is also home to a great variety of restaurants, beachfront cafes, and beach clubs. Bamboo Beach Bar and Lounge is one of the most popular eateries and hangout spots on the Sanur Beachfront.

The beach party cocktail list features all the classics and some tasty local fusions too including cocktails like Bamboo Paradise, Coco Breeze, and the Watermelon Cooler.

Genius Cafe is one of the most family-friendly cafe hangout spots in Sanur and is open early in the morning for those who find themselves catching the sunrise even on vacation.

Menu highlights include the Genuis Pancakes and the Little Genius Pancakes for kids.

Packed with heaps of healthy goodness, the Genius menu and incredible views of Sanur Beach are a great way to start a vacation morning in Sanur.

It’s widely agreed that Sanur is one of the top beach resorts in Bali, but Governor Koster also sang the praises of the beaches in the Karangasem Regency and Klungkung Regency.

Which beaches are worth visiting in these lesser-known areas of Bali?

Well, one of the most popular resorts in Karangasem Regency is Amed. The beach town is familiar to divers and snorkelers but a little less known by holidaymakers.

Amed is a laid-back, welcoming, and really beautiful fishing village turned diving and vacation resort.

For Bali lovers looking for a destination, a little off the beaten track in Bali but with access to everything a tourist resort has to offer, Amed may just be the place.

If you don’t know the beaches of Klungkung Regency by their administrative region, you will know them through their names and certainly through social media.

Klungkung Regency is in fact home to some of Bali’s most famous beaches.

Nusa Penida, Nusa Ceningan, and Nusa Lembongan are all in Klungkung Regency and demand for beach vacations and day trips to the islands keeps rising thanks to the efforts of local tourism leaders to keep the area pristine and well-managed for generations to come.

Most beaches in Bali are dirty. Nusa penida is smothered in plastic. Such a shame because it is great snorkelling

Fata Morgana beach’s, especially by low tide.

Quote "It’s widely agreed that Sanur is one of the top beach resorts in Bali".

Well, except that Sanur beaches are not suitable for swimming or snorkeling. On low tide the beach is basically dry for hundreds of meters exposing seaweed living off the nutrients in the not so clean water. Even on high tide the water is not very fresh and very shallow within the reef that is far away from land. So stick to the pools.

Not much better on land, with restaurants and beach clubs slowly taking over the sandy part both sides of the walking path. Doff doff music from beach clubs like Byrd House is really annoying. Locals are grilling in many places resulting in smoke lingering along walking path.

Some areas along the beach are less crowded, so not bad. Some of the top international brand resorts in Sanur are passable. Having a meal or drink at the Intercontinental on the beach is ok or Hyatt or Andaz. All overpriced but mostly free of riff raff. Btw Hyatt has a lovely garden.

Inside some areas of the socalled "family friendly" Sanur the place is full of dodgy characters. Should have been cleaned up a long time ago. Just visit Katulebo club as see for yourself.

Amed, "off the beaten track". That's for sure!! The road around Amed is a disgrace. The worst road in Bali. When will the government repair it?
