Bali Governor Wayan Koster has issued orders to create tourist support stations that are in operation 24/7.
The Bali Provincial Government will begin establishing integrated support units and 24-hour tourist service posts in top resort areas and strategic locations across the island to enhance tourist safety.

Bali’s Governor Wayan Koster has called on government agencies, including the Satpol PP (civil police teams), police, health agencies, Disaster Management Agency (DPBD), Search and Rescue Agency (Barsarnas), and the provincial tourism office to create an integrated and coherent network of support for tourists. This is in addition to improving strategic emergency planning and coordinated emergency response systems.
Governor Koster told reporters, “Emergency services must be available at every tourist destination that can be contacted quickly via a special number.”
He noted that tourists traveling to Bali face a diverse range of risks, including natural disasters, extreme weather conditions, illness, traffic accidents, and security threats.
Governor Koser explained, “We must have a system that ensures the safety and comfort of tourists while in Bali, whether at hotels, beaches, mountains, rivers, or while traveling from one point to another. Everything must be managed in an integrated manner.”
Governor Koster continued, “This post must be connected to health services, disaster management, the police, the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), and tourism agencies. Every tourist spot must have emergency services readily accessible through a dedicated number. We will also prepare a digital application to ensure all these systems are integrated.”
He added, “If we can implement this, Bali will become more trusted and respected internationally. This is not just natural tourism, but tourism with professional management, superior human resources, and modern information technology.”
He confirmed that the Bali Provincial Government is also preparing a digital app to ensure integrated services between the new tourism command posts and support units. Governor Koster shared, “This is part of our efforts to achieve quality and sustainable tourism in Bali.”
Speaking in response to Governor Koster’s orders, the Head of the Bali Tourism Office, I Wayan Sumarajaya, confirmed that Bali has recorded 5.6 million international tourist arrivals between January and September 2025.
Tourists from Australia, China, and India are the top three most frequent international arrivals, as has been the case for many years.

Sumarajaya emphasized the importance of balancing protection and law enforcement for foreign tourists.
Though he was candid in acknowledging that a series of significant challenges remain, including a lack of security staff in tourism businesses, ‘suboptimal’ emergency health facilities, and limited collaboration with travel and medical insurance providers.
He concluded, “Going forward, all tourist destinations will also be equipped with a real-time weather information system in collaboration with the BMKG at 81 tourist spots.”
When asked about the number of international tourists committing immigration violations and engaging in criminal activity on the island, Sumarajaya was clear that the new 24/7 support system does not indicate a shift in the provincial government’s commitment to cracking down on unruly foreigners.

He concluded, “We protect good foreign nationals, and we take action against those who violate. Throughout 2025, there have been 1,185 immigration actions and 406 deportations.”
“In addition, 144 cases were recorded in which foreign nationals were victims, mostly related to accidents and acts of violence.”

It is essential for tourists traveling to Bali to invest in a fully comprehensive travel and medical insurance policy prior to traveling to the island.
It is also essential that tourists read their policy documents in full to understand what is and is not covered by the policy and how to make a claim, especially in an emergency.
