A Canadian man has been found dead under mysterious circumstances inside his hotel room in Canggu, Bali.
The body of 45-year-old Scott Girard was discovered on Wednesday Sept 30th 2020 at 9:00 am by hotel staff.
Head of Badung Public Relations, Iptu Oka Bawa has confirmed the incident to The Bali Sun.
“The victim was found by a hotel staff member when the villa owner asked her to clean up Scott’s room on the second floor” Bawa said in an interview on Wednesday afternoon Sept 30th 2020.
The employee knocked the door several times but she had no response. Finally, she asked the other staff member to open the door with the spare key and that is when they found the body laying in the hotel room bed. “The employees tried to wake him, but Scott didn’t move at all” Bawa added.
The hotel manager immediately called police to make a report the discovery.
Members of the Badung Police Department arrived to begin their investigation at 1:13 pm. The ambulance transferred the deceased Canadian to Sanglah Hospital for further examination.
According to a doctor from the nearby Clinic, Dr. Arik, he didn’t find any signs of a physical struggle.
“But for the official statement about the cause of the death, it would be the responsibility of Sanglah Hospital” Dr Arik stated.
