Here at The Bali Sun, we are big fans of Waterbom Bali. This is the island’s biggest and best waterpark, and it has become the highlight of the annual vacation to Bali for hundreds of thousands of families every year.
If you’ve never been to Waterbom Bali before, you’re going to want to organise a visit on your next vacation.

Opened in 1993, Waterbom Bali has been in operation for more than 30 years. Located in the very heart of Kuta, this award-winning family-friendly tourist attraction is home to more than 28 rides and slides, stunning tropical gardens, pools galore, and plenty of fun activities for all the family.
In 2025, Waterbom Bali was named as the number one Waterpark in the World and ranked third among the World’s Top 25 Amusement and Waterparks in TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards: Best of the Best 2025.
The awards don’t stop there; in fact, 2025 was a hugely successful awards season for Waterbom Bali. The team received the Tri Hita Karana (THK) Lifetime Achievement Award 2025 from local cultural and environmental NGO Yayasan Tri Hita Karana for their commitment to people, nature, culture, and responsible tourism in Bali.
Waterbom Bali’s commitment to people and planet is evident from the moment you step through the gate. Many members of staff have been part of the team for more than 20 years, and Waterbom is on track to become net zero by 2033, making it the world’s most sustainable waterpark – who said saving the world couldn’t be fun?!
The fun to be had at Waterbom Bali is far-reaching…5.1 hectares to be exact. With slides, rides, and pools for all ages, it is easy to see why this has become a firm staple of the family vacation in Bali for more than three decades. The park’s attractions are ranked from mellow, through to moderate, to extreme.
Mellow Aquaplay is a zone where kids over six can run wild, and their grown-ups can join in on the fun. With six winding slides and interactive features, this designated play space is the first destination for little ones.
Waterbom explains that in Aquaplay, “Kids can roam across multiple platforms and climbing decks to discover water blasters, sprays, tipping bowls, or hand and foot-activated water jets. Not to mention, the iconic giant dump bucket that soaks everyone in sight! It’s seriously good fun!
Onto the Moderate waterslides, there are plenty to choose from for those who know their limits or are working up to brave something more extreme.
Python, a bright yellow slide, is fun for the family. Fitting up to four people on a life-raft-inspired inflatable tube, adrenaline junkies join together for a speedy slide that feels like you’re spinning through a Python’s belly.

Waterbom has been pushing the boundaries of waterslide innovation since day one, and the team’s creativity is perhaps best experienced through the park’s most extreme rides. Fast N Fierce is straight fives on the drench, thrill, and speed scale, with a fast and dramatic drop into the pools below.
Smashdown 2.0 is only for the bravest of souls! Best described by Waterbom Bali itself, sliders must “enter the capsule nearly 26m up, wait for the countdown and have the floor drop out from underneath you to bullet through a near vertical drop to a hydroplane run out in a matter of seconds.” Would you do it?!

After all that adventure, everyone needs a lie down and a refuel. Waterbom Bali’s dining and drinks selection is as comprehensive as its rides and slides!
Waterbom Bali explains how they have “something for all tastes and cravings! We pride ourselves on the wide variety of cuisine available throughout the park, and all food at Waterbom is sourced fresh daily and prepared to order. Whether you’re craving mouthwatering burgers, savory Indonesian dishes, refreshing salads, or tempting sweets, our diverse dining outlets have something to please every guest.”

There are seven different eateries to choose from, including two swim-up bars. The Oasis Garden area is the perfect place to rest up after an intense time walking (not running) from slide to slide. The artisanal sourdough pizzas go down a treat, we can assure you!
