With leaders coming out to say they want to reimagine Bali as the New Monaco, the New Hong Kong or New Singapore, as well as a disastrous prank whereby a cheeky netizen changed the name of Canggu to New Moscow on GoogleMaps, is Bali even Bali anymore?
It would be a far question to ask. As the landscape, both physically and spiritually starts to shift in Bali, it’s understandable that tourists and more specifically ‘real travelers’ are questioning whether authentic travel is even possible in Bali in 2024…let alone with 2025 just around the corner.
