Bali Farm House, in the heart of Bedugul, has opened Bali’s largest outdoor playground.
The living farm attraction, located between Lake Beratan and Lake Buyan in the central highlands of the island, has quickly become a family-favourite day out for both locals and tourists.
Bali Farm House spans over an 1800 m2 piece of land, nestled amongst the Bali highlands. The air always feels crisp and fresh, and the landscape feels totally different from the dense tropical jungles and pristine stretches of coastline Bali has become synonymous with.
The new outdoor playground is designed around the principle of allowing children to reconnect with nature.
Designed and constructed using sustainable, natural materials, the playground allows little ones to learn through play and enjoy time outside, screen-free and surrounded by nature.
The playground features rope spider webs, swings, slides, seesaws, wooden bridges, and heaps more fun games throughout the park. Each area has been designed to help develop motor skills, problem-solving, and boost the imagination.
The General Manager of Bali Farm House, Anak Agung Gde Lesmana Putra, told reporters, “By integrating games with nature, Bali Farm House aims to improve the outdoor experience for children and families while fostering a deep appreciation of the environment around us.”
Putra added, “As the largest outdoor playground in Bali, we offer various physical, social, and sensory activities that make it a perfect destination for family recreation. Our place provides a beautiful view for a cheerful family adventure.”
Bali Farm House is one seven days a week and activities are on offer come rain or shine. The whole attraction has been inspired by Tuscan style architecture and the European influence on the whole site is clear to see from the farm house buildings to the paddocks and beyond.
However not all the animals who live at Bali Farm House are native to Indonesia, or even Europe.
One of the most popular attractions at Bali Farm House is the alpacas. Native to the Andes Mountain Range in South America, the alpacas seemed to have adapted well to the cool climate of Bedugul.
Bali Farm House is home to 29 alpacas that were bought to the farm directly from Peru.
The farm is also now home to 11 donkeys who were bought to Bedugul from Australia, in addition to 4 ostriches and a herd of Shetland ponies.
The Bali Farm House has only been open since February 2024 and is attracting a huge amount of attention from young families looking for a safe, fun, and affordable day out in Bali.
Equally popular with local residents, domestic tourists, and international tourists, little ones visiting Bali Farm House incidentally have the opportunity to mix with children from all over the world during their time at the farm should they wish.
The play equipment and sessions to interact with the farm animals sessions like the farm photo shoot, picnic with the donkeys and money rides have all proven to be a hit with tourists, young and old alike.
The Bali Farm House is a complete tourist attraction with an on-site restaurant called The Barn. Serving up Western classics and Indonesian specialties, The Barn employs a farm-to-table approach to ensure that visitors have a healthy and fulfilling meal.
For dessert, families have been loving the Farm Pantry, which serves gelato, coffee, and cakes all for takeaway so that the fun doesn’t have to stop for a snack break.
Bali Farm House admission tickets can be bought online or on the door with basic admission tickets starting at IDR 175,000 for adults and IDR 140,000 for children.
Experience packages can be booked separately starting at IDR 325,000 and are best booked in advance. Animal feeding sessions are charged extra.
