With the rise of ultra-luxurious clubs and nightlife venues in Bali, where can the good-time gang go to let loose, dance carefree ’til the early morning, and find new friends to belly laugh with?
There is one very special place tucked away in an unsuspecting corner of Uluwatu, and you’ll want to be there.
Hatch is perhaps Bali’s most inclusive and openhearted nightlife venue. With high vibes and community feels at the very heart of everything they do, Hatch is THE place to meet like-minded party animals, make some seriously funny memories, and play.
For anyone who has driven past Hatch, you might easily be able to pass the poster-clad and brightly painted exterior as just another nightclub. But step inside this social oasis and be met with a paradise of color, cozy enclaves, and a warm welcome.
All of Hatch has been built and designed using recycled materials making for a perfectly coherent but jumbled up decor theme that is inspiring and gives you something new to fall in love with at every where you look.
These nooks and crannies are the real heart of Hatch. The corners where new friends get to know each other, couples can hang out and sneak a little smooch, and solo wanderers might just meet the new loves of their lives.
At Hatch, the music festival feels alive every night of the week, not only in terms of music but also in activities.
Hatch says “It is the only venue of its kind, encouraging activities, games and tree-like cubby house structures to climb and interact with. However, the venue’s heart is in its art and live music.”
When it comes to live music at Hatch, it’s all about picking your poison. Every night of the week highlights a different genre of music with incredible live sets from legendary local Bali DJs and international artists, too. Monda nights are all about Ulu Riddim, a mix of afro beats, amapiano and funk.
On Wednesdays, it’s time for jungle funk, with indie dance hits, disco, house, and techno house into the early hours.
Thursdays are all about hip hop and RnB. Come through on a Friday to ease into the Electric Garden, nothing but techno house, techno and progressive beats.
This brings us to Salsa Fiesta on Saturday, where the Ulu tribe gets those hips swinging to the live salsa band. What’s amazing about Hatch is that all these weekly events are free entry and no minimum spend.
The Hatch team add “At Hatch, we do not believe in exclusiveness but inclusiveness – Everyone is welcome. We promote oneness by experiencing music together as equals. You are free to roam in almost every aspect of the venue.”
If nightclubbing and dancing isn’t your thing, then don’t write Hatch off just yet. The weekly Sunday community market is a great opportunity to meet local artisans, meet the Ulu tribe, and just be amongst a really good group of folks.
Grab a drink, wander around the stalls, pick up some of your new favorite things, relax, and just have a chat. You never know where the day might take you.
The Sun Daze Market at Hatch is free to enter and is open from 11am until 6pm.
For something a little in between the high vibes of live music nights and the chilled market days, swing by Hatch on a Tuesday night for games night.
This is a weekly highlight for the Ulu tribe and there are so many games to get involved with.
Sometimes as an adult it can be really hard to meet new people, and often socialising comes in the form of work or in a stifled inauthentic and pressure-filled environment.
Games night at Hatch is the perfect opportunity to meet new people without the worry of having to make small talk; dive straight into strategy, in-jokes, and highly competitive banter.
Rock up as you are (no need to get all dressed up if you don’t feel like it!) Play a few rounds of pool, and jump in with the beer pong if that’s your vibe.
Give yourself a chance at the mini golf tournaments, or hang out by the Mario Kart screens or the arcade games for a real vintage night out.

Another open design club that will keep the neighbours awake. I said this before, zoning and noise reg means nothing here. Money talks.
