AirAsia Resumes Its International Route To Bali

An official from Bali Ngurah Rai Airport has announced that AirAsia has resumed its international routes to Bali on March 22.

The General Manager of Angkasa Pura I for Bali Ngurah Rai Airport, Herry Sikado, confirmed that AirAsia had landed its first international flight at Bali Airport since the Covid-19 pandemic struck in 2020.

“We have received additional international routes from AirAsia. They will cover the Kuala Lumpur – Denpasar route twice a week,” Sikado said on Tuesday (22/3).

The airline transported 106 passengers from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Bali on Monday. The plane flew back to Malaysia with six passengers on board.

The Kuala Lumpur – Denpasar route is scheduled to operate every Monday and Friday. It will be the only airline operating a regular international flight between Malaysia and Bali.

“We’re optimistic that more airlines will resume their international flights with Bali soon as the government loosened its travel restrictions to attract more visitors and revive the Bali tourism sector,” Sikado concluded.

Per the data, as of March 21, the Bali Airport has transported 13,275 passengers through both arrivals and departures of the international terminal throughout March 2022.

I doubt euros or westerners will want to come unless there no requirements for paid hotels like for 1-3 days. Forget what it is now. Many folks I know that had trips booked assuming that they would open have canceled because they don't want to spend their first night waiting on a test result so maybe it's just one night
