Jetstar Airways Lands In Bali For The First Time Since 2020

A Jetstar Airway flight has landed at the Bali Ngurah Rai Airport for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic started in 2020.

The Stakeholder Relations Manager of Angkasa Pura I for Bali Ngurah Rai Airport, Taufan Yudhistira, confirmed that the airport facility received a Jetstar Airways flight on Monday (14/3) at 1:39 pm. This is a first since the Covid-19 pandemic struck over two years ago.

Airport staff greeted the airline with a banner saying ‘Welcome Back Jetstar Australia’ at the international terminal as an expression of gratitude.

“Jetstar Airways finally resumed their Melbourne-Denpasar route today. The plane is scheduled to depart from Bali and go back to Melbourne tomorrow (16/3),” Taufan said on Monday (14/3).

The flight contained 300 passengers and the airline plans on operating a weekly flight for this particular route.

Taufan noted that there were more international passengers arriving than leaving, as over 200 passengers go through the international arrivals terminal each day, while the international departures terminal records less than 200 passengers daily.

Since implementing the zero quarantine policy and the visa on arrival program, seven international airlines, namely, Garuda Indonesia, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Scoot Tigerair, Jetstar Asia Airways, and Jetstar Airways, have resumed their international flights to Bali.
