Thousands of Bali residents received cooking oil as a reward for joining the Covid-19 vaccine booster program in Denpasar.
The Head of the West Bali Police Department, Kompol I Made Hendra Agustina, confirmed that on Saturday morning (12/3), a vaccine booster program was conducted by the West Denpasar Police Department at the West Borneo Association Secretary Building in Jalan Gunung Soputan.
Over 3,000 residents enthusiastically joined the program and received rewards such as cooking oil, food packages, and even mountain bikes from the officials.
“We prepared over 3,000 cooking oils for all participants. Dozens of food packages and 3 mountain bikes were also drawn at the end of the vaccination program,” Kompol Agustina said.
He admitted that this strategy has successfully attracted many people to join the vaccination program as thousands of residents gathered at the vaccination site as early as 7:00 am.
Kompol Agustina explained that this program was initiated to support the provincial government’s effort to distribute the Covid-19 vaccine booster to at least 30% of Bali residents.
“We have to be prepared should there be a surge in Covid-19 transmission, especially after the implementation of the zero quarantine policy for international travelers,” Kompol Agustina concluded.

Much better than in some European states, where citizens have got nothing except threats.

Let this one sink in as well: Covid policy has impoverished people to the point they go and get injected with something in exchange for a bottle of cooking oil, or some small chance of winning a pushbike.
At this point I think desperation has reached a point where you might as well just pay people to get a booster shot. Pay them 100k per shot, you'll reach your whatever percentage target much faster. Surely some people will get as many shots as possible to earn money, but on paper you'll reach the desired vaccination grade just as well.

A joke.

@Mat, no cooking oil available in supermarkets across Germany those days because of war in Ukraine. Ukraine was a biggest cooking oil exporter. Because one liter of sunflower coking oil was cheaper than one liter of diesel fuel, some diesel drivers use it as fuel. Same situation with flour.
