Bali Governor I Wayan Koster has announced that Garuda Indonesia and Jetstar Airlines plan to resume their Sydney – Bali flight routes.
During a press conference at the Governor’s office on Saturday (12/2), Koster explained that officials from both airline companies notified him of their plan to resume Bali-Sydney flight routes.
“I just received a call from the President of Garuda Indonesia. He plans to restore Bali-Sydney flight routes in near future,” he said.
Koster also received information from Jetstar Airlines concerning the resumption of direct flights between Sydney and Bali as soon as Omicron cases go down.
“Jetstar has a similar plan, but they’re still waiting for updates about the current pandemic situation, ” Koster added. He is optimistic that this will be the beginning of the revival of the Bali tourism sector as the central government has already loosened travel restrictions for international visitors.
“We’re about to receive 70 visitors through Singapore Airlines on February 16, so we really hope that our authorities will continue to handle this Omicron transmission properly,” Koster concluded.

@Kevin Skinner, sorry to burst your bubble. The streets in Bangkok are still empty and bars are closed. The criteria to enter is still not very clear. The country's attempt to jump-start tourism may be hurt by the absence of the very businesses foreign visitors come for. Good luck
