The Bali provincial government has announced that the island may receive 70 visitors from Singapore on February 16.
Bali Governor I Wayan Koster confirmed that after receiving 12 travelers from Narita International Airport on February 3rd 2022, the island might welcome another set of international visitors from Singapore on February 16.
“We haven’t received international arrivals since the February 3 flight from Japan, but we were informed that there will be visitors from Singapore arriving on February 16 with Singapore Airlines,” Koster said on Wednesday (9/2).
However, Koster admitted that the scheduled flight will still depend on the Covid-19 situation in Bali.
“Although the airline plans to carry 70 passengers on board, everything is still tentative and will depend on the situation, especially with the current surge of Omicron transmission,” Koster added.
He claimed that border reopening is unavoidable as many travelers have been asking the government to lose their travel restrictions.
“We should just implement strict prevention protocols when receiving foreign tourists,” Koster concluded.

Do the relevant people realise what a disincentive the current visa and isolation regs are?
I'll use Australia as an example as prior to covid it was the #1 country of origin.
An 211 e-visa can only be bought online and through a registered agent. The price is touted as around US$250, but in my talks with local agents Rp4+ juta - AU$400. OK, you get 60 days plus 4 x 30 days roll over. So what? The average stay previously was for 10 - 14 days. At the moment isolation is for 5 days and only available at a few 5 star places. The cheapest is around AU$1000.
So you've just shelled out $1400 for a 5 day 'holiday' at a place you wouldn't normally stay,and you've used up almost half of your normal holiday time. What if you're a family?
Why isn't the e-visa cheaper? Why the 211? Why not an e-VOA at a reasonable price? Why have to pay for it anyhow?
Why can't isolation hotels be set up at places most tourists stay and at a reasonable price? Most DON'T stay at 5 stars at Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Bukit and Ubud. Why not line up some villas with pools? Security would be a easy. Food? Easy and varied - self catered, delivery from supermarkets or restaurants by Grab.....even if wanted a live in cook/pembantu.
There's a joke starting to circulate which has a ring of truth. Given the low rate of local covid testing and the high rate of tourist test requirements isolation is designed to protect the tourist, not the locals.

I know there are thousands of people wanting to go back to Bali - The government must start bringing people back Soon.
I support a couple of families in Bali as I know they have absolutely no income whatsoever-
This is terrible in the year 2022 that so many people on the island live in poverty.
Please please move restrictions and get the tourists back.

It seems that things continue in going round and round and round without addressing the paramount issues at hand. The administration needs to understand that Bali is NOT the best and only tourist destination in the world. Bring back the Visa on Arrival immediately. Who will pay 4 juta for a 2 x week tourist visa ? Also the Quarantine is a mess as the rules change daily which doesn't help people's confidence in the Government. Now they are talking about a "Hotel Quarantine Bubble" where people can go to the resteraunt, pool and outdoors in a restricted manner.
What happens IF somebody tests positive on day 4, is EVERYBODY that is part of that bubble get carted off to hospital for 2 x weeks or something ?
One must make things very clear for visitors or nothing will ever happen.

@Mike, regarding positive test - that is a really valid point and certainly needs clarification. And yes, this B211 visa that costs a few million RP and takes around 10 days isnt going to encourage tourism. Personally I dont even understand how the visa is relevant to covid prevention.
