The central government plans to partner with international pharmaceutical companies to build a Covid-19 vaccine research center in Bali.
Through the Coordinator of Maritime and Investment Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, the central government confirmed that Indonesia plans to build a Covid-19 vaccine research center in Bali.
This will be done in cooperation with international pharmaceutical companies such as Pfizer, Merck, and Cansino, in the hopes of empowering Indonesian scientists to develop a Covid vaccine.
“We plan to build a Covid-19 vaccine research center in cooperation with Merck, Pfizer, and Cansino,” Luhut said on Saturday (29/1).
He also stated that Indonesia is preparing to mass-produce a Covid-19 vaccine called Merah Putih Vaccine. It will be fully developed by Indonesian scientists by June 2022.
Luhut revealed that there are many talented Indonesians working in the medical, pharmaceutical, and epidemiology fields who haven’t been adequately empowered by the government.
“After personally handling this pandemic, I realized that we have many experts in Indonesia. However, most of us think that we’re still inferior to expats,” Luhut concluded.

Who will pay for this, is Indonesia going to set it up and pay for it all or are they going to try and get the money form overseas to do it ? My suggestion is to focus on getting your country less corrupt, help the people on the ground with basics, improve your pollution and traffic which is a joke and stop taking money from overseas to build things you actually don't need. You have great facilities in Bandung right now. Get those good up and coming scientists in your country into those companies and help them direct. Take a good look around Bali, many don't want to work, they don't care about the environment, still burn plastic and waste in the streets all over the island (as does Java). You cant keep going this way as a country. Get the basics right first - and yes, their are many talented people there that deserve to be successful as the whole country does once it is cleaned up.

Herein lies the problem: "The central government plans to partner with international pharmaceutical companies". The bribe money paid out by Big Pharma is fueling all the decisions by the Bali Government; the leaders financial gains over the last two years need to be investigated. If you really want to get to the bottom of this study the data released by 100's of INDEPENDANT labs from around the world.
