Bali Governor Revokes Breathalyzer Test As Acceptable Entry Requirement

The Bali provincial government has decided to revoke the usage of the Genose C-19 Breathalyzer Test as an entry requirement for domestic visitors.

During a plenary session with Bali Senators on Monday (28/6), Bali Governor, I Wayan Koster announced that the Genose C-19 test for domestic visitors through air travel service has been revoked. This policy was issued through the Governor’s Decree Number 08 Year 2021 about the Extended Community Based Partial Lockdown in the New Normal Era post Covid-19 pandemic in Bali.

Koster explained that the policy was based on the instructions from several Indonesian Ministers such as Maritim and Investment Minister, Health Minister and Public Transportation Minister in order to prevent Covid-19 transmissions from surging on the island. “We have been handling the Covid-19 transmission pretty well on the island, so this policy was issued to anticipate any more transmissions before we can finally reopen the border to international visitors.” Koster said.

Domestic tourists who plan to travel to Bali through air travel service are now required to show negative results from the PCR test that is taken two days prior to their arrival in Bali. And travelers who plan to gain access into the island with ferry service through Gilimanuk Port are required to show negative results from a rapid antigen test or PCR test that is taken 2 days prior to their arrival. “Breathalyzer tests are no longer valid as an entry requirement for both air and land travel service in Bali.” Koster concluded. He also announced that Bali authorities will only accept PCR or rapid antigen test documents that are printed along with the QR code to anticipate any fake documents.
