A local food vendor that is located on Jalan Singaraja – Seririt has been crashed into by a car, causing serious injury to two customers.
The Head of the Banjar Police Department, Kompol Made Agus Dwi Wirawan confirmed that a car driven by a 55-year-old man named Mandala Christian from Pemecutan, North Denpasar has crashed into a local food vendor as the driver lost control over the vehicle on Thursday evening (13/5) around 6:40pm.
The incident occured when the car that was transporting 5 passengers suddenly went out of their lane, and crashed into the road barrier as well as a food vendor before plunging into a rice field below them. As a result, two of the food vendor’s customers that were identified as a 19-year-old man named Vio Adi Saputra and a 36-year-old woman named Putri Diah Firana from Pemaron village, Buleleng suffered serious injuries.
Both of the victims were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals by the villagers to seek medical attention. “After receiving a report regarding the incident, our officers came to the location to begin their investigation, while both victims were rushed to two different hospitals by the villagers.” Kompol Dwo said on Friday (14/5). Meanwhile all the passengers of the car including the driver were not injured from the incident. “During our investigation, the driver admitted that he began to lose control over the car because he felt sleepy, causing him to have less focus which resulted in an accident.” Kompol Dwi concluded.
