An 18-year-old from Ringdikit village, Seririt has been arrested for assaulting his neighbour with a knife and causing serious injury.
The Head of the Seririt Police Department, Kompol Gede Juli said that the incident occurred on Monday (12/4) around 6:30pm when the 15 year old victim was playing a game on his cellphone, along with some other friends at a village guardhouse near his house when he was assaulted with a knife. After the incident, the victim ran to his house and told his parents about the incident. His parents immediately rushed him to the Santi Graha Seririt Hospital with a motorbike to seek medical assistance for his injuries.
But then he was referred to go to the Buleleng Public Hospital due to the severity of his bleeding. After receiving a report regarding the incident, police officers went to the location and arrested the suspect. “According to the interrogation with the suspect, he admitted that he assaulted his neighbour after years of being bullied by him.” Kompol Gede Juli said on Tuesday (13/4).
Gede Juli also said that the case is still under investigation to find out if it was planned or a spontaneous act. Meanwhile the Director of the Buleleng Public Hospital, Dr. Putu Arya Nugraha explained that the victim’s condition is getting better after surgery. “His condition is getting better now, thankfully his vital organs were not injured during the incident.” Dr. Nugraha said. The suspect is now being detained at the Seririt Police Department and he could possibly face 5 years of imprisonment.
