Two students with initial HKR and IMAJ have been rushed to the hospital after getting assaulted by a drunk man in Pemogan Village, Denpasar.
The Head of the Denpasar Criminal Investigation Bureau, AKP Hadimastika Karsito Putro confirmed that the incident occured on Friday (11/6) afternoon around 12:30pm on Jalan Griya Anyar, Gang Petasikan Number 1 Pemogan, South Denpasar. “Two students were rushed to the hospital due to the incident that occurred last week on Friday afternoon in Pemogan Village. The suspect was arrested the next day.” AKP Hadimastika said on Tuesday (15/6).
The incident occurred when the suspect that was identified as a 40 year-old man named I Putu Murtiasa from Buleleng was consuming liquor on Friday afternoon. Shortly after, HKR and IMAJ who happened to be there attempted to ask the suspect to stop drinking alcohol in the area as many people became uncomfortable with his behavior while he was drunk.
Apparently, Murtiasa was offended by the warning and decided to assault HKR with a knife. Knowing that his friend was being assaulted, IMAJ attempted to stop the suspect but unfortunately Murtiasa also hurt IMAJ with his knife, causing them to suffer from serious injuries. After the incident, the suspect fled the scene, but thankfully he was arrested by the police from his home on Jalan Sunset Road, Kuta on Saturday (12/6). “The suspect is now being detained at the Denpasar Police Department along with evidence such as a knife and a motorbike for further investigation.” AKP Hadimastika concluded.
