The Deputy Minister of Tourism’s, Ni Luh Puspa, spoke to reporters during a Balinese Language Speaking Competition held at the Samsara Living Museum in Karangasem Regency this weekend.

Balinese born and raise Minister Ni Luh Puspa told the audience about her vision for promoting destinations all across Bali to both domestic and international tourists.

The Deputy Minister shared “I see how if the development of Bali tourism is not only focused on South Bali because Bali is not only in the south, but it also has the east, the north, which we must strengthen the development of.”

The majority of Bali’s biggest and most well-known tourism destinations can be found in the central south of the province; Seminyak, Sanur, Nusa Dua, Uluwatu, Kuta, Legian, and Canggu to name but a few.

For the last five years or so leaders within Bali and within the central government have been eager to encourage tourists to visit areas outside the central south of the island.

For two years there has been a major focus on West and North Bali, and now Ni Luh Puspa wants to invite more tourism development to the east of the island.

During her tour of Karangsem Regency the Deputy Tourism Minster visited the fantastic Samsara Living Museum as well as the iconic Tirta Gangga Water Palace and Gardens, as well as Puri Agung Karangasem and Tenganan Pegringsingan Tourism Village.

Ni Luh Pupsa spoke with praise for the top tourism destinations in East Bali and pledged her support to help bring these attractions to the attention of more travelers. She told the audience “I think there are many things to work together on with the newly elected Regent, who has a very big vision to advance tourism.”

She added “This is also in line with the President’s ideals to develop tourism from the villages. Let’s work together to develop Karangasem tourism so its benefits can be felt by the community.” Ni Luh Pupsa concluded “Karangasem’s tourism potential is very large to be developed. We will also immediately communicate with the tourism center in Karangsem.”
