When it comes to imagining city travel in Indonesia, it has to be said that Bali’s Denpasar is not the first that springs to mind. With the sprawling metropolis Jakarta as the working capital city, followed by cultural hotspots like Yogyakarta, there are perhaps a few different Indonesian cities that sit higher on the bucket list than Denpasar.
We stay that with no ill or disparagement to Denpasar. It’s just that the capital city of Bali Province has a lot of competition to keep up with. Just think, with vast tropical jungles, stunning volcanic highlands and impeccable coastlines to explore, the idea of exploring a city when all this is on offer is a little unappealing to most.
