A video of a man and his child stealing a cellphone from a local vendor in Tabanan has gone viral on social media.
An official from Bengkel Village, I Nyoman Wahya Biantara, confirmed that a thief was captured stealing on a CCTV camera on Tuesday afternoon (21/12). The victim was a local vendor named Ni Wayan Budiasih.
“This was the second time it happened to the victim. She had already lost some of her gas cans a few weeks ago before losing her cellphone two days ago,” Biantara said on Thursday (23/12).
A man and his child came to the shop and pretended to buy a rice cracker. Shortly after, the victim realized that her phone was gone, but unfortunately, the suspect had already drove off from the scene.
“The incident was caught on a CCTV camera previously installed by officials from the Bengkel Gede Village,” Biantara added.
Although the victim refused to report to authorities, Biantara insisted on doing so. During the investigation, the officers discovered that the registration number on the suspect’s motorbike was fake.
“We assume that the suspect intentionally put a fake license number on his vehicle and brought his child with him to trick his potential victims,” Biantara concluded.

The place is falling apart due to over government control precluding decent Balinese citizens making an honest living. Jakarta is out if touch with the needs of Bali which is mainly reliant on international tourism. I live Bali and it's people and had planned a trip there in March. I will lose that money as Jakarta has made it impossible for international tourists to visit Bali with quarantine in Jakarta, testing and visa requirements before getting to Bali. I won't ever be visiting Bali again as I have list too much money and will travel to other destinations that are more inclined to assist their tourist trade given mist if us are triple vaccinated or will be shortly. I have never had Covid or know anyone who has Covid
