An official from the Immigration Office has confirmed that over 1,000 foreign visitors have applied for visas on arrival since the government resumed the policy a few weeks ago.
The Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office Class I, I Nyoman Gede Surya Mataram, confirmed that 1,384 international travelers have applied for a visa on arrival under tourism purposes since the government resumed the VoA program on March 7.
“From the 4,330 foreign visitors that have entered Bali, 1,384 of them applied for the VoA,” Mataram said on Thursday (17/3).
He explained that the majority of travelers who applied for the VoA were from 5 specific countries. “23 countries can apply for the visa on arrival in Bali Airport. However, most of the travelers who have entered with this type of visa were from Australia, America, England, France, and Russia,” Mataram added.
Meanwhile, the Stakeholder Relations Manager of Angkasa Pura I for Ngurah Rai Airport, Taufan Yudhistira, said that the traffic of Bali Airport has significantly increased.
“Bali Airport saw 7,393 passengers pass through the international arrivals terminal and 3,353 passengers went through the international departures terminal from March 3 to March 16. In total, there were 188 international flights,” Taufan said.
Six international airlines, namely, Jetstar Airways, Singapore Airlines, Garuda Airlines, Scoot Tigerair, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, and Malaysia Airlines have resumed their flight routes to Bali.

In 2015, a Japanese consultancy analysed the impact of the US$25 VOA cost on Bali's tourism. The conclusion was that, although the government might lose some US$11 million, a free VOA would result an in additional 492,000 visitors and a benefit of some US$ 500 million spent, more than offsetting the loss. The VOA was made free but there does not appear to be any statistics to validate the recommendation or otherwise. IMO, the cost of a VOS is a disincentive to o tourists ad Bali should revert to a free VOA.

@Roger Thomas, you have been complaining about the expensive B211A visa. And yet The VOA which is intended to be less complicated and much cheaper, you are still overthinking it.
By the way some of those visa agencies in Bali are part ownerships with foreign entities. Yes go figure!! So if you want to complain why they have charged so much complain to them not entirely to the Indonesians.

@Randy, oh stop this c0v1d and ba2 nonsense finally. Get out the house, man... there's life out there. You guys are so irritating with your hypochondric/maniac behaviour already. Sooner you'll die due to lack of fresh air rather than a seasonal flu, gosh...
