Bali Governor I Wayan Koster confirmed that the island had received nearly 2,000 international visitors since early February 2022. Only 7 tested positive with Covid-19 upon their arrival at Bali Ngurah Rai Airport.

“Only 0.04 percent of 1,916 international passengers tested positive with Covid-19,” Koster said on Friday (4/3).

As The Bali Sun previously reported, the number of foreign tourists has finally increased as the government reinstated standard travel policies such as zero quarantine and the visa on arrival policy.

“7 travelers tested positive with the virus. Six of them were foreign nationals while the other one was an Indonesian citizen,” Koster added.

Koster also stated that 11 more international airlines are about to resume direct flights to the island.

Meanwhile, the President of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra, was optimistic that this would be the beginning of Bali’s tourism recovery. “Hence, we have been supporting all of the provincial government’s efforts in reviving Bali tourism and economy,” Irfan concluded.
