Fast boat services between Bali and Lombok are resuming their full normal schedule after a week of cancellations and delays.
The impacts of Tropical Cyclone Seedling 96S have been felt across Bali Province and West Nusa Tenggara.
Fallen trees, landslides, flooding, and storm damage have affected hundreds of communities and even killed at least four people.

For tourists traveling between Bali and Lombok, as well as Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air, normal order is resume.
This comes as a relief to many tourists who have had their travel plans and vacation itineraries seriously disrupted by the weather this week.
The waters of the Lombok Strait, between Bali and Lombok, are famously rough at the best of times. But this week with the impact of Tropical Cyclone Seedling 96S added into the mix, the waters have been nothing shy of treacherous.
On Monday a partial closure of the crossing was put in place, as confirmed by a circular letter from the Padangbai Class IV District and Port Authority and Office Number: AL.202/1/1/KSOP.PBi.2025 due to the extreme weather that was forecast in the northern Lombok Strait with a wind speed of 15 knots and a wave heights upwards of up to 2 meters.
Speaking to reporters late in the afternoon of Thursday 13th February the Head of the NTB Transportation Agency, Lalu Moh Faozal, confirmed “Yes, the plan is to open today Hopefully the weather will improve in the future.”
He added, “All normal crossings including Kayangan-Poto Tano Port are also back to normal.” Speaking separately the Marketing Manager for Eka Jaya Fast Boat, Puput, confirmed that the fleet has been given its sailing permit by the Harbourmaster Office at Padangbai.
Safety has been a huge talking point in the fast boat world this week. On Sunday 9th February a fast boat that was about to embark on its journey from Nusa Penida to Sanur caught fire moments before departure.
The vessel was already loaded with 85 passengers when an engine is believed to have short-circuited and caught fire. Harbor officers and crew jumped into action to extinguish the fire, and the boat was successfully evacuated.
After an assessment from the Padangbai Harbour Master and the crew, the boat was deemed safe to proceed with its journey since the explosion of the one engine did not impact the four remaining engines.

Though the weather forecast is improving into the weekend, tourists in Bali and the public are urged to keep an eye on weather warning updates and act accordingly. Electrical storms have been forecast across Bali on Friday 14th February.
Into Saturday and Sunday more heavy rains are forecast across the island’s biggest tourism resorts including Canggu, Uluwatu, Seminyak, Nusa Dua, Kuta and Ubud. Heavy rains have the potential to cause flash flooding, trigger landslides and cause trees destabilised by this week’s extreme winds to fall.

While normal services have been resumed for fast boat and ferry crossings, as well as at Bali Airport where 15 flights were disrupted this week, tourists are encouraged to check in with their travel providers as weather conditions continue to change quickly.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday 13th February the General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, that he and his teams will continue to prioritise public safety.
He told the media “We have coordinated with all airlines to ensure that flight operations run safely and smoothly and passengers affected by extreme weather can be handled properly.”
