Bali is one of the world’s leading tourist destinations, offering some of the best hotel experiences on earth. Every week a new tourism venture opens up on the Island of the Gods, and one of the most recent additions is Teratai Villa. Managed by Ini Vie Hospitality, Teratai Village is situated in ultra-trendy Canggu and offers guests a unique mix of Indonesian and Japanese architecture, design, and hospitality.
Located on Jalan Kayu Tulang in the heart of Canggu, Teratai Villas offers guests a unique retreat from the hustle and bustle of busy Canggu. Guests can choose to check into a one- or two-bedroomed pool villa within the Teratai Canggu Tourism Village. The villas each come with a private pool and a homely feel. The team behind Teratai Villa is marketing the getaway for honeymoon couples, those looking for a romantic staycation, or simply a destination for a little indulgence.
Speaking to the media, the Marketing Branding Manager for Ini Vie Hospitality, Gratika, explained the vibe of the new accommodation complex. Gratika said, “In addition to luxurious facilities, Teratai Villa Canggu also provides romantic decorations for guests who want to surprise their partner. Flower decorations can be placed on beds, bathtubs, or private pools”.
Romance is a focal point for Teratai Villas. Offering honeymoon and celebration packages that include everything from a flower petal bath to couples massages, the team is on hand to make every guest feel like they are VIPs. Gratika continued, “To ensure that guests get the best experience during their staycation here, staff are available 24 hours, extra beds, daily housekeeping, room services, parking area, and others”.

Bali has welcomed an incredible selection of new hotels and refurbished accommodation options in rent weeks. Last week South Kuta saw the launch of Fairfield by Marriott. The new 71-room hotel is located just a 6-minute walk from Jerman Beach and a 10-minute drive from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.
In a press statement, Ramesh Jackson, Area Vice President for Indonesia for Marriott International, shared how the new hotel has been created with the company’s mission and values front and centre. Jackson said, “We are thrilled to expand Marriott Bonvoy’s footprint in Bali with the opening of Fairfield by Marriott Bali, South Kuta. This opening, our fifth property under the Fairfield by Marriott brand, underscores our commitment to ensuring a diverse portfolio of offerings for travelers visiting the region”.
The Marriott Group is also the company behind the recently refurbished Four Points by Sheraton in Seminyak. Also just a short drive from Bali Airport and, located ideally between trendy Canggu and classic Kuta, Seminyak offers travelers the quintessential Bali beach getaway. Speaking in October,
General Manager at the Four Points by Sheraton Bali, Seminyak, Amy Lingga, told reporters, ‘We are excited to return to the neighborhood after a long hiatus! With inspiring spaces and experiences combined with the island’s rich cultural heritage and offerings, the hotel is perfectly suited for both leisure and business travelers looking for a space to relax, unwind while staying connected’.
Mana Ubud, a not-for-profit eco-hotel in Sayan, Ubud, caught the attention of the media this week for promoting small eco-friendly upgrades that can benefit all businesses in Bali. Mana Ubud shared their essential rainwater harvesting system that helps generate enough water to run the whole hotel, market garden, shop, and cafe operations. The hotel showcases many examples of the ‘serenity, spirituality and susuatiability’ that tourism officials in Bali have said they want to see more of.

Great timing. Business model completely undermined by the new law. Not many married couples would book an expensive romantic getaway. This investment relies on there being no shortage of couples whose behaviour is now criminalised

I live near rice fields and from experience the rice fields are flooded during heavy rain as rice fields are important water catchment areas -- while nearby low density residential areas stays dry. All good.
The Canggu villa mentioned in the article seems to be a high density development on a former rice field. Typically tiny plots of around 120m2 walled in with no water catchment area and very little greenery. With high density development comes also issues with fresh water supply from wells, sewage leaking into fresh water supply (wells) and build up of heat during day time (little greenery).
About time Bali take a deep breath: Is this really want they want?
