The Stakeholder Relations Manager of Angkasa Pura I for Bali Ngurah Rai Airport, Taufan Yudhistira, stated that the Bali airport is expected to receive a significant increase in domestic arrivals over the next few days.

Many people have become less reluctant to travel since the government officially removed the Covid test requirement for vaccinated domestic visitors on Tuesday (8/3).

“With the recent adjustments on the travel requirements for domestic travelers, we’re quite optimistic that the traffic of both flight arrivals and passengers will increase by the weekend,” Taufan said on Wednesday (9/3).

He predicted that the number of daily passengers is expected to increase by 20 percent compared to the situation before the travel policy adjustment.

However, Taufan is committed to implementing prevention protocols during the airport’s operation to avoid creating a Covid-19 cluster within the area.

PCR and antigen test facilities will remain operational, as Covid tests are still required for travelers who aren’t fully vaccinated. The new policy only applies for fully vaccinated travelers.

like crazy to still insist on "full vaccination". The facts that the WHO cites on the effectiveness of the mRNA vaccines during the course of the pandemic: April 21: 95% protection June 21: 70% protection August 21: 50% protection Sept. 21: does not protect, but reduces spread Oct. 21: does not reduce spread, but protects against severe courses Nov. 21: does not prevent severe courses, but ICU admission Dec. 21: does not reduce ICU admission, but one dies not. Absolutely convincing.

@Ganivet, The vaccine immunity may decrease as you are building up some type of protection. Either you are vaccinated and boosted or not the law stays that way in favor of vaccinated people. Some people may experience a Breakthrough infection with a mild symptom or none at all. If you are not happy with it then the door is wide open to stay out. We vaccinated folks regardless are happy and content to stay healthy and alive despite unvaccinated idiots who still believe in conspiracy theories. Sighs.

I understood that the central government had approved Bali Governor's request to remove the quarantine requirement. Instead it has simply changed its name to CHSE only for international travellers. Domestic tourists who spread the pandemic in Bali in the first place are free from CHSE. Strange thinking.

@Roger Thomas, fully domestic travelers are able to travel to Bali or rest of Indonesia without a pre-boarding covid tests. Unlike non vaccinated and those with first dose of vaccine who have to be tested prior to boarding. The local government is obviously trying to enter an endemic phase. Is it hard to comprehend? You do not define the policy of another country. And again and again I will repeat it.

@Roger Thomas, CHSE hotels (government and public health approved) are for international and Indonesian citizens arrivals from abroad. It has always been CHSE for a long time.

@Roger Thomas, shut the hell up. Do you think that international tourists to be PRECISED Australians are immune from Covid -19. Your biased attitude is none other than a white privilege colonial mentality.

The bule as the Indonesians would call it would not wear masks in public unlike the Balinese working in the hospitality that follow health protocols. More and more are not wearing helmets while riding motorcycles in Canggu and Jimbaran areas.

Denpasar is busy and lively unlike in Canggu, Seminyak, legian, Kuta and Sanur is still quiet. Balinese are doing just fine, business as usual and are happy to cater to the domestic travelers as they have realized that their own citizens can still help the local economy.
