A 23-year-old man named I Putu Purnama has been arrested after stealing dozens of motorbikes in different areas in Bali.
The Head of the Denpasar Police Department, AKBP Bambang Yugo Pamungkas, confirmed that the suspect, who had been previously jailed for an assault, was again arrested after stealing 21 motorbikes in Bali.
“He operated from January to March 2022 and managed to steal 21 motorbikes. The suspect was finally arrested on March 17 in Denpasar,” AKBP Bambang said on Wednesday (23/3). The officers began their investigation after receiving a report from one of the victims named Hironimus Jat (aged 26).
Hironimus left his motorbike in front of a building in Jalan Gadung, Denpasar on Monday (14/3) at 10:00 pm. After a few hours, the victim was shocked to see that his vehicle was gone.
After receiving the report, the police began collecting information from the scene and were finally informed regarding the suspect’s location. The suspect was shot in the leg as he attempted to resist the arrest.
Once he was arrested, he was transported to the Denpasar Police Department for further investigation. “During the interrogation, the suspect admitted that he spent the cash from selling those motorbikes through his social media account for online gambling, although he kept losing money,” AKBP Bambang concluded.
The suspect was detained along with seven motorbikes. An investigation to find the other stolen vehicles is still underway.

Air Asia has stated that they would restart flying to Australia again. I live in Darwin and enjoyed my time with Air Asia until they stopped flights, I hope they include Darwin as a airport again. Ian
