A man (initials IMS) from Sukawati has passed away during a hotel quarantine after he tested positive with COVID-19 in Ubud.
He was quarantined with his wife at the Maxone Hotel in Ubud after the family was confirmed positive with COVID-19 on Saturday (6/2).
Despite having no symptoms, the provincial government no longer allows people to self-isolate in their homes. After testing positive, the COVID-19 Handling Task Force immediately transported the family to Maxone Hotel in Ubud and relocated them into two different rooms.
According to information from his wife (initials NNR, 67), on Monday morning (8/2) she made breakfast for her husband and decided to go back to sleep. At 6:00 am, NNR woke up again and prepared for the daily medical check. NNR saw her husband still on a chair and assumed that he was sleeping
Their son, (initial IMD, 37) attempted to wake him up but didn’t receive a response, so he called the medical team from Gianyar Health Agency: Putu Awan Saputra and the Head of Ubud Clinic II, Dr I Gusti Ngurah Adnyana. After examination, doctors confirmed the patient deceased at 9:15 am.
They also confirmed that IMS had some congenital disease prior to this incident. The medical team transported the body to Sanjiwani Gianyar Hospital using an ambulance for further examination.
