A 29-year-old model from Ibaraki, Japan named Masumi Suzuki is collecting donations to provide to the people of Bali. Masumi visited Bali in the past and was pleased to see the culture and hospitality extended to her.
“I am very happy with the people of Bali and they have helped me a lot in the past. Therefore I wish to repay them during this pandemic,” Masumi said.
“I want to help the people in Bali during this difficult time by handing out some rice and food as a return for what I’ve received in the past,” Masumi said during a virtual interview on Wednesday (10/2).
Masumi is currently trying to raise funds on the internet through an official site. She is also collecting money through her Facebook account and expects to receive at least USD 14,235 (IDR 200 million).
Additionally, she plans to return to Bali in April of this year to learn the Indonesian language. She mentioned that she is interested in meeting a companion in Bali.
“Apart from playing sports as a hobby, I’m also good at playing piano and I have a dream to one day hold a piano concert at a big hotel in Bali to raise more money in the future,” Suzuki added.
Most international travelers that have visited Bali are aware that the island is highly dependant on tourism, which has been heavily impacted by the global pandemic.
Many have been sending help and financial donations from overseas in efforts to help the people on the island.
